The causes of tinnitus are still unproven although there is excellent evidence that loud sound, especially impulse or extended over exposure, are the cause. It is true that nothing helps with tinnitus because they don’t know what causes it. However, it is also true that loud / impulse noise can trigger a flare up - which EARPEACE does help with. Preventing tinnitus from relapsing / having a flare up is even more difficult to determine. Everything depends on everything - physiology, psychology, pathology, situations, etc. If you have tinnitus the bottom line is you need to protect your hearing and protect yourself in loud environments / avoid impulse environments (e.g. at a shooting range over the ear muffs are a must).
